Tchibo CMS Redesign: Administration & maintenance of categories for the online store
Tchibo is a corporation based in Hamburg and is known throughout Germany. The eCommerce online store is regularly optimized, but the systems behind it have not been further optimized. In 2022, Tchibo decided to overhaul the internal applications around the management of online products. The main goal of this project was to help Tchibo transition from a monolithic system to one based on microservices. Even before our time, intuio from Vienna did a very good preliminary work.
Main task
Our main task was to conceive and design new microservices that would replace the previous monolithic CMS system in the long term. The focus was to be on process optimization and better usability. The solution developed is a more powerful and user-friendly application that significantly reduces errors through automated processes and is adapted to the market needs of different countries.
Simplify processes, modernize the user interface and maintain consistency of the system and other microservices as a whole while improving the overall user experience. All this without losing sight of the requirements and needs of the various users and departments, as well as the needs of the business and its vision.

The Tchibo CMS System
Adding categories has always been a thorn in the side for users. The new process, including search, ensures faster operation and the previously selected main category is also anchored.
Going live with categories is now also much easier and more convenient than before. Regardless of whether Tchibo users are located in Germany or another country.
